Over the past month, I’ve been a little quiet. Not because nothing has been happening, but because life sometimes moves in seasons where motivation feels… a bit harder to find.

I think we all experience these periods. The important thing I’m reminding myself is that it’s completely normal and most importantly, it’s temporary.

For me, the biggest lesson lately has been learning to be kinder to myself. This lesson often pops ups, wouldn't you agree?

Instead of pushing harder or feeling guilty about not doing “enough,” I’ve been leaning into the things that help me feel calmer, more balanced, and more grounded.

And that has made all the difference.

One thing that has helped me enormously is visiting my reflexologist. I go every two weeks, and honestly, I would be a little lost without her. Those appointments are the moment to pause, breathe, and reset. It’s incredible how much tension we carry in our bodies without even realising it, and reflexology has always been a wonderful way for me to reconnect and release some of that stress (practicing what I preach eh!)

The Comfort of Small Rituals

I’ve also been surrounding myself with the little things that bring comfort and calm. Essential oils are something I absolutely love. Whether it’s adding them to a diffuser, using them in creams for my face or body or simply breathing in a scent that helps me relax, they’ve become part of my daily rhythm.

I’ve also been choosing crystal bracelets that support calm and help with aches and pains. There’s something very grounding about wearing something that reminds you to slow down and take care of yourself. Even if it’s just symbolic, those small reminders can be incredibly powerful.

Back to the Basics

Sometimes when motivation dips, the most important things are also the simplest.

So I’ve been focusing on the foundations:

  • Making sure I get enough sleep

  • Eating nourishing food

  • Drinking enough water

  • Not overloading my schedule

  • Letting go of unnecessary guilt

That last one is often the hardest.

We can be incredibly tough on ourselves, expecting more and more without giving ourselves the space to simply rest and reset. But the truth is, rest is productive too.

A Little Time Away

I’ve been fortunate enough to go on holiday recently. Travel always gives me perspective. Stepping away from routine, even briefly, can help reset your mind and remind you that there is a bigger world outside of the everyday pressures we sometimes place on ourselves. I know that holidays are a luxury that not everyone has access to, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have had that time.

A Gentle Reminder

If you’re reading this and you’re feeling a little low on motivation too, please know you’re not alone.

Life isn’t meant to be lived at full speed all the time.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is pause, breathe, and take care of ourselves in small, meaningful ways.

This season will pass. It always does.

Until then, be kind to yourself.

You deserve it. 💛 low motivation being kind to yourself reflexology aromatherapy self care
